On April 27, nearly a thousand GTA builders, designers and marketing pros gathered for the 32nd Annual BILD Awards to honour excellence in the GTA's home construction industry. The annual ceremony is hosted by the Building Industry and Land Development Association, and this year's event was the largest yet with a stunning 1,200 submissions across 49 categories.

Among those celebrated were Geranium Homes, which won the 2012 BILD Home Builder of the Year award for their first time ever, Empire Communities and Tridel which held on to their titles as Green Builders of the Year in the low-rise and high-rise categories respectively, and Mattamy Homes and The Remington Group which won the Place to Grow Community of the Year awards.

Rudolph P. Bratty, Chairman and CEO of Remington, received the BILD Lifetime Achievement Award, Mira Tomljenovic of In2ition Marketing Insights recieved the Riley Brethour Award for excellence in sales and marketing, and The Mikey Network won the first Stephen Dupuis Community Building Award (named in honour of the late-Stephen Dupuis) for their charitable work installing defibrilators — called MIKEYs after the late Mike Salem — in public buildings and spaces.
