The development approved for 8 Eglinton Avenue by Bazis Inc., Metropia, and RioCan has been given a name. It will be known as the E Condos Yonge & Eglinton. The original proposal and renderings called for a 64-storey tower on the northeast corner of Yonge and Eglinton and a 44-storey tower on the north end of the project at Roehampton Ave. Our report on this first design can be found here.

In January the Design Review Panel voted unanimously for a redesign. Concerns were not with the architectural renderings that were well received, but with the potential impact on the surrounding neighbourhood. They argued that such a large development at a major midtown intersection and transit node must provide more consideration to its neighbours. The panel's full assessment can be found beginning on page 9 of this document

Bazis will have more information  on the new design in the coming weeks.  In the meantime, we will settle for the design of the project's new logo, E Yonge & Eglinton.
