Concord Adex have had their Discovery Condos complex at Concord Park Place in North York professionally shot, and we think the images provided to us of the Roland Rom Colthoff-designed buildings look pretty slick. Discovery I and II, the first completed phase at the Sheppard and Leslie area development site, rise between 12 and 28 storeys. They will be joined soon by Tango and other Concord buildings to create a tight-knit neighbourhood, eventually expected to be the home for nearly 7,500 Park Place residents.

Below are the towers of Discovery II at the northeast corner of Provost Drive and Esther Shiner Boulevard, with one of Discovery I's towers visible to the right.

This closer look at Discovery I hides the second tower behind it. The shot emphasizes the lively coloured glazing of the extensive amenity areas in the structure's podium.

From the southeast we see both towers at Discovery I. At 28 storeys high each they command a view over the 401 and Leslie area. Artist Derek Root's "Field Map 1 & 2" decorates the white concrete walls below the multicoloured glasswork, but is difficult to discern at this distance.

This bold southeast view of the courtyard at Discovery I features Finnish artist Jakko Pernu's playful installation "Summer Clouds".

Townhomes fronting Singer Court are part of the mix at Discovery too. A partial view of the Canadian Tire at right hints at the Sheppard Avenue retail which is only a short walk from the site. Toronto's original IKEA is part of the neighbourhood here of course as well!

To end, a glimpse into the piazza at Discovery as seen from Provost Drive. Come good weather and new retail - including the coffee shop promised by the Coming Soon sign at left - this people place should soon be full of life.

UrbanToronto has lots more info and more images of course in our dataBase listings for Discovery and for the forthcoming Tango towers too. You will find them linked below along with the associated Forum threads should you want to get in on the discussion of these projects!
