This morning at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts in the Distillery District, the Provincial Government, Waterfront Toronto, and the City of Toronto announced to a packed house that construction was getting underway on buildings which will be home to the PanAm and Para-PanAm Games in 2015, buildings which will become a new neighbourhood once the games are over. We will have a fuller report for you tomorrow on many of the details, but we can direct you in the meantime to UrbanToronto's new dataBase listing for the site.
Containing 22 views from all-new renderings revealed today, the images include aerial and streetside perspectives on the site, including the westward view through the village towards Downtown Toronto with market housing fronting on Don River Park in the foreground. George Brown College's first student residence, to be built at the corner of Front and Cherry Streets, features in several of the images, as does the integrated new YMCA.
We will be back with more details soon. In the meantime, you can access all the renderings in the dataBase entry by clicking below. You may also want to get in on the discussion in our Projects and Construction Forum thread via the associated link.
