"Old Town Toronto" is quickly becoming New town Toronto, based on the number of condo developments east of Yonge Street (Rezen, Modern, King East, Vu, Pure Spirit, just to name a few). Now, we can add Ivory on Adelaide to the list.
Here we feature new renderings of the project by Plaza, which is located near Adelaide Street East and Lower Sherbourne. Designed by the team at Hariri Pontarini, the 19-storey condo de-emphasizes the conventional “glass box” design by playing up the contrast between solid and open surfaces with the use of ivory-coloured blocks that will certainly add a touch of elegance and simplicity to the neighbourhood.
Staying true to the inspiration of ivory carving, the condo façade will be adorned with carved details that are sure to add a classical feeling to the modern setting. Upon completion in 2014, Ivory will add 272 new residential spaces to this downtown east area. Although construction has yet to be inaugurated, based on the recent photo taken by beaconer, Ivory will be sure to add a breath of freshness to the drab, parking-lot infested vicinity.
