Canada's wittiest not-for-profit general interest magazine, The Walrus, is teaming up with TD to host a special debate at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) on October 12.
Entitled, "Be It Resolved That Toronto Will Never Be Beautiful", the event will pit noted journalists, critics, architects and industry experts against each other in a heated discussion that aims to explore Toronto's future in politics, arts and culture, business, and architecture, lending to the formation of a cohesive, "beautiful" city.
Jack Diamond, of the world-renowned Diamond + Schmitt Architects will pair up with John Barber, an established city columnist with the Globe and Mail. At the other podium, author and columnist Stephen Marche will face off with assistance from The Walrus' resident professor, writer and fiction editor Nick Mount. Other noted guests include CBC News' Amanda Lang as Moderator, and Soulpepper's Albert Schultz, Journalist Denise Balkissoon, and Matt Galloway from CBC Radio's Metro Morning as Provocateurs. It is sure to be an insightful, interdisciplinary and quick-witted discussion that any urban enthusiast should not miss.
