As we reported a few weeks back, the heritage house at the site of the new Pinnacle on Adelaide condos is going to be picked up and moved. First it will be moved across John Street, where it will be stored while the new 43-storey condo is constructed, and then once the condo is completed, the house will be moved back across John where it will be restored as part of the new complex. Here, in this photo by UrbanToronto forum member Red Mars, we see the house on wheels and ready to move.
The building has already been moved off its foundation at the southwest corner of John and Adelaide.
We now have word that the move across John is slated for this Saturday, August 13th at 8AM, while the street is closed to traffic. Its temporary home will be the parking lot across the street, as seen in the following photo.
Stayed tuned for further coverage on the move later this week. In the meanwhile there's more here.
