Even before going into construction, Eleven Superior, a new 9-storey mid-rise condominium on Lake Shore Blvd West, is settling into Mimico and its lively local arts scene. The sales centre for the Davies Smith Developments project has been the scene of three Local Kitchen Party events over the last three months. Each LKP has featured food and drink from local purveyors, and Canadian musical talent including Montreal band See Spot Run and entertainer Virgil Scott. Eleven Superior's latest Local Kitchen Party featured offerings from local favourites Everest Indian Cuisine and the Great Lakes Brewery, with soulful two-time Juno nominee Andrea Henry being the main attraction on stage.

Of course it would be disengenous to pretend that the events weren't being thrown with an eye towards impressing the neighbourhood and seeling some units, but the truth is that Eleven Superior has been designed all along to be a good new neighbour and a great addition to this established neighbourhood. The architecure of the project, by Raw Design, features plenty of high-ceilinged retail at street level behind big bright windows surrounded by stone, beautiful brick detailing above, an elegant rounded corner where Lake Shore and Superior meet, and set backs that provide terrace space at strategic points as the building rises.

Eleven Superior is just the type of building the City wants to see built along its Avenues: handsome, street friendly, and providing density along a streetcar line, all while not over-powering the homes in the neighbourhood streets behind it with a skyscraper. The building is also the type that many now want to live in: intimate, on a walkable shopping street, close to extensive lakefront parkland, convenient to many transportation options like the Gardiner Expressway, the TTC, and GO's lakeshore rail line, and it provides views from most units across Humber Bay. Amenties on the top floor, covering every resident's need for both recreation and relaxation, have access for all to a large terrace with the best views of all in the building.
