At the opening of Sherbourne Common North today it was revealed that the new name for Great Gulf Homes' Waterfront condominium project will be Monde. First announced last year as Parkside, with a Moshe Safdie design featuring balconies which stepped down towards the lake, a new version appeared in March of this year with an even more dramatic look for the balconies. Internationally renowned Moshe Safdie, working with Toronto's award-winning Quadrangle Architects, presented a design where every second balcony was now extending out from the building, creating very dramatic views for those who will eventually take up residence within.

The project will form the east edge of Sherbourne Common, bringing lively eating establishments and retail to the pedestrian realm here.

The project launches in September, and Great Gulf intends for it to be open for occupancy in 2015. UrbanToronto has created a dataBase entry of the project which includes these renderings and several more, along with links to the registration page for Monde should you be interested in the project.
