The First Canadian Place re-cladding continues as seen in today's Photo Of The Day by UrbanToronto forum member androiduk. This photo shows a rather neat before and after effect as half the building is now re-clad.
Issues with the stone cladding having the inclination to want to fall off prompted Brookfield Properties, the building's owner, to fully re-clad the building in glass. At this point they are about halfway done. The new cladding certainly looks a whole lot better than the original in this photo.
Re-cladding has also begun on the podium as the following photo shows.
This major renovation on the tallest building in Canada should be completed sometime next year.
