Today's Photo Of The Day, posted by Urban Toronto forum member Michael62 late yesterday afternoon, has already sparked much discussion within the forum. Shown are the first early elevations for the proposed new towers at 501 Yonge Street.

Developed by Lanterra Developments, the project as proposed is set to feature two 58 storey condo towers above a 7 storey podium consisting of retail uses at ground level. Because the subway runs underneath the site parking will be included above-ground in the podium. Design will be by architectsAlliance. 

Elevations at this stage are generally hard to trust as the city's views have yet to be heard so we'll refrain from making any judgements. But we will be following quite intently as this project moves forward.
