Today's Photo Of The Day, taken by first time contributor Bruvyman, is a wonderful shot of the former Canada Malting Silos. Located at the foot of Bathurst, the silos have been empty since the mid-1980's. Plans to reuse the iconic structure have so far gone nowhere. Which is a shame as something quite cool could be done with it.

Urban Toronto has a soft spot for this complex. I actually spent three summers working here during the early 1980's. Really hard work but the pay was excellent. And drinking cold beer, shipped directly from the Molson Plant on Fleet Street, while watching the air show from the roof was priceless.

Let's hope someone comes up with the resources to rehabilitate it.
