Word has come that city planning is recommending approval for an 11-storey condo at 2756 Old Leslie Street. The plan is set to be looked at during the North York Community Council meeting on January 18, 2011. Located at the northwest corner of Old Leslie and Esther Shiner, the building is directly south of the Leslie subway station. Here's the east elevation.

The project, developed by Great Lands Corporation, would contain 182 residential units with 56 being one bedroom units, 86 one bedroom plus den units, 22 two bedroom suites and 18 two bedroom plus den units. Retail is planned for the ground floor and part of the western end of the lot will be used to expand the TTC commuter parking lot that currently exists to the north. While we are not against the project, we would have preferred something much larger. The Leslie subway station is directly to the north, the Oriole GO Station directly to the south and the 401 around the corner meaning an ideal spot for higher density development.
