Maple Leaf Gardens is getting an extensive makeover these days. Built in 1931, the former home of the Toronto Maple Leafs has been empty since 2001 when the Leaf's moved to the Air Canada Centre. Now new life is coming to the building as renovations take place to turn it into a Loblaws grocery store on the ground floor, and Ryerson University's new skating rink and sports facility on the upper level.
We're really glad to see the arena get reused successfully.
