Recently we wrote about plans for a new 56 storey condo to be located at 609 Sherbourne and Howard Streets just south of Bloor. Now, new information gathered at City Hall shows a more ambitious plan than previously suspected. Lanterra Developments is proposing to bookend Howard Street with four major condo towers. 609 Sherbourne will consist of a 50 storey 140m tall tower while at the corner of Howard, Parliament and Bloor we will see a 56 storey 159m tower, a 46 storey 133m tower and and a fourth and final tower at 53 storeys or 151m. A total of 1840 units will make up this architectsAlliance designed project. Here we see what the plans look like. The full project. We wonder what will occupy the land between these projects.

Looking south from Bloor Street.

We are quite pleased with this. Howard Street is the one street in Toronto that looks like an American rust belt city with a full block of empty and boarded up buildings. 609 Sherbourne today.
