The Onni Group of Companies is unveiling Westlake Village, a new skyscraping urban village at the corner of Park Lawn and Lake Shore in Etobicoke. The complex features three glass towers rising above a large U-shaped podium containing 100,000 sq. ft. of retail space at ground level, including specialty shops, a major grocer, a pharmacy, cafes and restaurants. Designed by Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects, the complex's first phase will be the slender 48-storey 487-unit tower in the northwest corner of the site, featuring suites, penthouses, and townhomes overlooking the Mimico Creek, Humber Bay parklands, and Lake Ontario. The building will culminate in an architectural feature reminiscent of a lighthouse.
Strong horizontal bands will define the seven-storey podium which surrounds the lushly landscaped retail village. Views to the lake will be maintained, and connections will provided to the new Mimico Creek and Waterfront trails. Amenities for residents will be extensive.
