Daniels Corporation has announced that they have closed a deal with WJ Properties, owners of a number of houses that have remained boarded up for years along Bloor and adjoining streets across from High Park. The boarded up homes have been a longstanding sore point for the community in what should be one of the most sought after stretches of street in the city.

Daniels plans for the site are for a 300 unit complex featuring stacked townhomes in behind a 14 storey podium and tower on Bloor. The project will be called High Park Residences condos. The Bloor frontage would include retail at grade. Architect Diamond + Schmitt have been hired. The current state of affairs along Bloor Street and Oakmount Road: Bloor, starting at Pacific

The last house on Oakmount sits beside land cleared for the subway nearly 50 years ago. This block is currently kept as a lawn, as opposed to an operating park. Daniels hopes to makes this land into community gardens.
