The decade long saga of 10 Dundas East, formerly Metropolis and Toronto Life Square, takes another turn. The 13 level entertainment retail center located at Dundas and Yonge is being bought by Kansas City based Entertainment Properties Trust. Developed by PenEquity, and designed by Baldwin and Franklin, the project had its genesis back in the 1990's when the city expropriated land for Yonge-Dundas Square and for this project. The square was built while this project sat behind a notorious blue hoarding as construction stalled for many years. When finally completed a few years back it got poor reviews for its design and interior layouts. After opening trouble came again, when high debts caused the project to fall into bankruptcy. The property was shopped around but ultimately EPR, a large creditor of the project, decided it was in the best financial interest for them to take over. Urban Toronto has been covering this project for almost 10 years and it is our most viewed thread ever. Let's hope this ends a long and tortured story
