Whole Foods

You must live in the area (as do I). Without Whole Foods, I probably would have to shop at a million different stores just to get what I need. The Longo's Market never has anything and while I can find MOST things at Bloor Market, it's not always the case (they tend to have a better organic selection, but grocery/pantry items are often out of stock). Pusateri's? FORGET ABOUT IT! Only go there for prepped items.

Yep, that's pretty much my experience. I think BSM has really upped their game though in the past year even despite the increase in people shopping there. If they only had a bit more space...

(I used to live at Bay & Charles and still work nearby, but have recently moved to Bloor & Spadina area.)

Wisla, wouldn't it be overkill to have automatically have a thread for every stand-alone retail building, when such stores are already under discussion in the retail threads?

I didn't realize Whole Foods had arrived in Toronto and was expanding so much. I'm a Torontonian living in the States right now and until a few years ago, I thought of it as only a US chain and when coming back to visit family in TO just not too long ago was surprised to see one of my family members buying containers of stuff from it.

Whole Foods in Yorkville has been there since at least early 2000's.

It will be nice to see more of our suburban streets filled with buildings like this built up to the street instead of strip plazas and single family housing.

Because we have this thread for Whole Foods.

This isn't a stand-alone retail store though, it is a multi-tenant building.

But I digress.

Honestly I think a 7 story building with condos on top would have been much better, I mean there are condos just a few blocks north on Bayview; I'm not a huge fan of this, it looks like any other typical multi-tenant development.
