Who will be the next Liberal leader?

Re: The next Liberal leader wants colder weather

Let's redirect this increasingly off topic topic to a more appropriate thread.

You have to be kidding?
No. Check http://www.toronto.net/WeatherHistory.aspx . Toronto's temperatures from July 1st to July 18th in 2006 were on average 2.3°C warmer than 2007, with 3 days over 30°C in July 1-18, 2007 vs. 5 days over 30°C in July 1-18, 2006. The same period in 2005 had 6 days over 30°C.

I'm sure the same stats would prove true for June 2006 vs. 2007. I stand by my comments, this summer has been chilly thus far. Let's wait until the end of September to review the complete summer vs. previous years, but IMO we're in for a non-Gore'ish cold spell this summer.

I love this mild summer. Open the windows at night and let a breeze cool the place. The blackcurrants have done particularly well this year - so much rain and plenty of watering.

I love it too, and didn't mean to imply that I was complaining. This reminds me of the great summer weather in New Brunswick, where it drops during the night for great sleeping and then reaches the low to mid 20s during the day. All we need is some thick fog and a moose or two.

You left out June. I think I counted 6 days with >=30C highs, and several more with highs of 29C. I would say that June was quite warm, and that it has mellowed out (quite nicely) the past few weeks. I wouldn't describe this summer as 'chilly', though. Average highs this time of year are around 27C, and we've had many days top that. Looks like things will heat up next week, too.

Apparently the Southern Hemisphere experienced a rather cooler than average spring this year. That would be expected probably because globally averaged temperatures have flatlined since 1999.

Hopefully it won't induce Moose to get on the loose in the city. Last time that happened they all ended up with weird paint jobs.

Let's get back on topic
