Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

You've just described the original plan for the Sheppard subway, what would have been built if there was more money on the table than just for 5 stops. The Sheppard subway was always envisioned as going from Downsview to STC, which is why you'll sometimes hear calls to "complete" the Sheppard line.

no stop is needed at senlac or faywood. This is ridiculous with these stops. Those are not major roads but residential houses on those streets

If a subway runs underneath those streets regardless, what's the harm in keeping to kilometre apart stop spacing? There's modest density immediately west of those intersections regardless. Gaps like the one between Sheppard-Yonge and Bayview are ridiculous, Willowdale should also be infilled.
 
And for Senlac, it is right at/near the portal where the subway switches to bridge over the Don River. Makes a station much easier - likely less than the Bessarion Station costs (mabye $50M).
 
Bathurst is as deserving of a station as Any other station currently on sheppard. If we have to connect the loop, maybe out a stop at bathurst.

Problem with stations is a give and take between cost of building a station and the cost of running a frequently running local bus.
 
If a heavy rail subway west of Yonge, only stations at Bathurst and Sheppard West (Downview) needed.

If a light rail surface or underground subway, then stations/stops at Senlac and Faywood would be desired. I would throw in a light rail station at Willowdale, as well.

You're right, but those stations are relief for sheppard yonge. Send people there rather then the interchange station.

Willowdale is not the cities fault, the residents didn't want it. Any infill stations will depend on the taxpayer and not city.
 
We're past that. Time shut Scarborough (and central north york) up once and for all. Only way to get the DRL through without the bitching.

Isn't this exactly what we heard about the Bloor extension? Let's approve it to shut them up once and for all? Seems that didn't work, how do we know that this will, and they won't come up with another equally ridiculous fantasy plan? Subways on Finch anyone?

2 will be enough. Finch West is already under construction and they also have the Eglinton West LRT coming up in etobicoke.

At present, there is no strong push from the public to extend the Sheppard subway anytime soon. A few councillors and MPPs might want that, but they only succeeded in delaying the LRT on Sheppard East.

No need to make concessions when you haven't even been asked to do so.

There's a strong push for transit in many areas. Its far overdue all over the map. There's no reason to pit areas against each others once again. Bottom line if we are serious about building a public transit network in this City we need to be serious about funding for all these projects that are overdue & stop pitting commuters against each other.

The residents are pissed all over Scarborough and these areas all have differing needs. Its only because our local papers only bash suburban projects and promote downtown centric projects & you don't hear this frustration and anger. Well, until election time that is. Than we have chaos again because too many people on the short end are not being listened too.

We need to face the reality of the entire picture.
