You can get a coffee, pop or snack at Starbucks, Subway or the convenience store, all directly across the street. Tim's will be opening soon. No need to go to the gas station.

Hey, this building was basically falling apart and not gorgeous

Even vacant and dilapidated, it was one of the best looking buildings in the area. It is gorgeous. But agree that an empty building usually does not contribute to the vitality of a neighbourhood. However, there are a lot more factors behind the problems in this area than merely the vacant state of the Loblaw Groceteria building.

that section of the gardiner is not looking so great from below lol. It is really mind blowing that they remove and catalog all the old bricks

Yeah, it really is.

Once this is done this corner is going to be cleaned up considerably. For such a long time it's been junked up by the poor state of this heritage building. Its restoration will make this corner finally feel alive.

I apologise if this has been answered before but are they completely tearing down this building or just the exterior?

^^^ But with the existing bricks being removed, catalogued and restored to be put on the new building

After being there for so many years, it seems to be disappearing rather quickly actually, and it feels very odd to see the space opening up.
