Toronto Water's Edge at the Cove | 182.26m | 56s | Conservatory Group | Richmond Architects

I can confirm that the 56-storey tower is on hold for the time being, and that the focus has turned to selling the 16-storey waterfront component called The Cove at Waterways.

The thread for The Cove is here.

From a few hours ago. To the north of where Riva del Lago is going in, will be Cove at Waterways:

The excavation area includes Waterways itself in behind, but that one is not officially going ahead yet. Not sure what the sales status is on that one. Anyone?

And what of the stalled Waterways?

Well, they've certainly dug much deeper for it to the immediate northwest of the Cove at Waterways site.

From yesterday evening:

So the question is, why?!

Is this one actually stalled, or just slow-moving?
Well, with the Conservatory Group, at times it can be hard to tell. On another project, several years ago, work was moving so slowly - no perceptible progress over an extended period of time, I went into the sales office to ask if the project had been abandoned. The answer was no - they were at the stage of working on the amenities area to be shared with the second phase of the complex, and the project really was proceeding. Construction took forever.

Sales were slow for this phase, (phase one), so it was pulled in favour of the much smaller Cove at Waterways, and the marketing of Waterways was suspended. As best as I know, buyers in phase one were offered units in phase two instead, leaving Waterways with even fewer units spoken for. No idea how many remaining purchasers were then let out of their contracts.

On July 25th, 2016. Foundation wall going in. I guess sales have to start soon?
