I noticed today that they have still not installed the permanent traffic lights at Front and Bay (and, I guess. Front and York). Thee wires are still strung from temporary wooden poles. Any idea why they have not finished this off??

They've also finally taken the black plastic bag off the street sign at the SE corner of Front and York. The sign says York but it's lined up with University ...

Because the bases of the new poles are already there, covered in wooden boxes.

On an unrelated note:
The Tim Hortons really needs better ventilation. They consistently make the York promenade stink of microwaved eggs in the morning. Yuck!

Here are the supposed renderings of Union Chicken and Burger's Priest in the York Street Promenade, not sure if these are final though. Also, if you zoom in on the PDF, you can see renderings of what Starbucks, McCafe, and Booster Juice might look like in the York GO Concourse. And in the leasing map of the York GO Concourse, you see Uncle Tetsu's listed on the western side.

Also, when I visited the new Sherway Gardens expansion, I saw in the window of the Loding menswear store that they are opening in Union Station in Winter 2016. Unfortunately didn't take a picture of the sign though. There is an interesting bit in the Star article on the Partisans of Bar Raval fame:

Partisans isn’t the only firm to use 3D printers and other new digital technology to conceive and create structures. But Dreessen points to the company’s work on the lower-level retail and commercial space in revamped Union Station, Partisans’ first commission involving a public facility. It decided to convert thousands of existing CAD (computer-assisted design) drawings into a three-dimensional BIM (building information modelling) model — a gargantuan task and proof, Dreessen says, “that architects think outside the normal realms and add value to what they do.”

Partisans’ work on Union Station will be rolled out in stages starting before the year’s end. Meanwhile, Grotto Sauna, Bar Raval and other projects have led to new commissions in Ontario and abroad.

Yes, I thought the plan was for a 'destination'; though food courts are useful and having some food at Union is sensible I had hoped (and still hope) for some actual shops.
