Interesting. The existing site seemed to be an odd placement in an equally odd (and dangerous where two lanes merge to one on a curve) intersection.

The first thing that comes to mind would be to relocate it to the SE corner when the Regent Park redevelopment comes that far north - but then what replaces it at the current site?
 
Admittedly, I was unaware that there was a library here until now. Integration into a future phase of Regent Park could work, but I wouldn't mind if they if they renovate or expand at the current corner. It's a fairly centralized location, sort of acting as a meeting point between the Regent Park, Moss Park, and Cabbagetown areas.

As a side note, the stretch of Gerrard west of the library isn't necessarily the most covered part of town on this forum, but there's good urban bones there. Whenever that Beer Store redevelopment and Oben Flats project get going, they should help fill in some of the streetscape gaps heading towards Allan Gardens.
