Nice! Looks sleekly assured. These renders can be terribly misleading however. We're going to have to wait and see if the actual materials, colour and quality of execution can even approach this.

ZBA zppealed to the OMB. Hearing starts May 28.

Meanwhile, the SPA resubmitted in December 2017. New renderings:

City: This is DEAD.

Developer: It's not dead, it's appealed to the OMB.

OMB: It's not appealin'! It's passed on! This proposal is no more! It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet its maker! It's a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace! If you had substantially altered it from a previous proposal appealed to the OMB which was denied there, it might be pushing up the daisies! Because you did not materially alter the proposal however, its metabolic processes are now history! It's off the twig! It's kicked the bucket, shuffled off this mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-PROPOSAL!!

But is it dead? ?

200 Keele St & 203 Oakmount Rd

A proposal for a 4-storey condo building containing 52 residential units with rental townhouses at grade has been proposed at this site. A later Committee of Adjustment application approved a lot severance for the site, and a request for minor variances to zoning was refused and appealed to the OMB. This proposal is once again going to be heard before the OMB.

This poorly designed development should not pass. The variances are not minor as they eradicate most of the trees in a designated ravine, and violate height and density restrictions among other variances. To top it off, this development looks like a mashup of soviet bloc apartments and a weak stab at post-modernism. The architects who designed it, a husband and wife team called Romanov Romanov, do not even have a website. The poor design and rendering at this stage of the proposal doesn't bode well for execution and materials in the build. Toronto can do better than to approve such poorly conceived designs. And do we really need to eradicate designated ravine areas? Haven't we learned from our past mistakes when it comes to filling over the natural creeks and ravines in Toronto? OMB stand your ground. Torontonians deserve better than this.
