Construction begins on 6-storey apartment complex

The new Oakville building will feature 356 residential units.

Construction has officially begun on a six-storey apartment complex in Oakville’s Glen Abbey Encore community.

A groundbreaking ceremony took place on March 26 at 2500 Saw Whet Blvd., and was attended by Oakville Mayor Rob Burton and Halton Region Chair Gary Carr.

The project is being undertaken by NEWRISE, a Burlington-based joint venture partnership between New Horizon Development Group (NHDG) and Krpan Group.

The developer says the building will feature 356 units and help address the growing demand for rental opportunities in the area.

The building, dubbed Ovation Rentals, is projected to open for occupancy in the winter of 2026.

When complete, it will offer 374 underground parking spaces.

Of the 356 units, the developer says 21 per cent will be one-bedroom residences while 52 per cent will be one-bedroom-plus-den residences, 19 per cent will be two-bedroom residences, and seven per cent will be two-bedroom-plus-den residences.
