I'm not sure if I would say that it's a beautiful building. It's a big building...a tall building.....but not a gorgeous building.

Same here, even if this building looks ok and seems well built, I don't understand the enthusiasm of everybody.

As far as our buildings go, in the 'recently built over 250m mark category', this one easily takes the crown I think (not too hard considering only Trump and Aura are in this boat). As for the 'recently built over 200m', I'd put this one up there too. This perhaps makes One Bloor the best newest-tall building in the city.
Even people I have spoke to who know little about high-rise development, have said great things about this project, which has a powerful presence even at street-level.
And the excitement comes from the accumulation of years of development, anticipation, location, height, scale, and execution, making this the perfect storm as far as Toronto developments are concerned. This was years in the making, and it's finally (thankfully) paying off.

The One Bloor East hoarding makes a cameo appearance. Okay it's a shameless plug for my own work, but what the heck. I'm a filmmaker and a skyscraper fan. Sue me! ;)
