There was an excavator sitting on site as I was heading into Toronto from Burlington.

I really think this development is inappropriate for the site. It would be better for a beautiful stone or brick midrise--ie under 10 storeys--on this site. Retail here is likely to be a failure.

Under 10 storeys a preferable form for a site not just near, but right next to, a busy transit station?

A high-rise building right next door to a GO station is exactly what is needed. Now if only they could replace the GO parking lot with a parking garage.

This project will also see part of GO Parking lot being part of it as well the station itself. Therefore, it should be taller than 10s.

As for the cemeteries, there no more room for people living there.

You could get triple the density here with buildings less than 10 storeys tall. You could infact create a cool little 'hood here with a mix of double or triple stacked towns, 6-10 storey buildings etc. Mimico GO is not the same context as Front and Spadina.

The cemetery is beautiful and historic--Mimico on the Go should reflect that history not deny it.

Construction has started here:

Hard to believe this is the area surrounding a rapid transit stop. It's nice to see areas like this and Kipling Station finally getting some density.

Is it just me or is this project moving very slowly?

I drive past the site once a week and nothing much seems to be going on, they aren't even below grade

I'd assume the projected occupancy date has been pushed back at this rate, definitely don't see an occupancy of spring 2016

I'd agree 26 is a little too much, something in the 18-20 story range would of been more suitable for the location. But expecting 10 or less is unrealistic since the precedent for a little more has already been set by the 16 story building across the street.
