Currently there is so little traffic on QQE at any time in either direction that the dog and I just cross at will without needing to wait for the light.

Yeah, I hear you. I think I'm mostly smarting from watching a young family on the weekend having to scoop up their kids on the weekend because the little ones were afraid to cross the street—an urban planners nightmare scenario (if a little fantastical)!

Also, as someone up-thread noted, vehicular traffic could increase quite significantly as all the condos along here start to become occupied.
