FYI - This won't look exactly like the renders (surprise, surprise). I know that some of the red/orange splashes on those inset balcony walls will actually be vision glass in some cases.

I bought a unit here and it shows this colour on my balcony, but I confirmed with the sales lady that it is in fact glass - as the floor plan shows. IIRC she mentioned some of the 2 and 3 br suites were sliced up into smaller suites changing the look on some of these balconies. I have no clue how many may be removed though.

Also, I was mistaken in my previous post regarding shoring equipment etc. They had suckered me in by posting an image from their Duke condos groundbreaking a year ago with the announcement of this groundbreaking. They did send me another email stating that the construction hoarding was going up at the end of October, so hopefully this will start soon. Shoring permit was issued by the city on 10/14 I believe.

Still, not much has changed, they did remove/relocate a hydrant, but at least they have machinery on site now.

That sand has to worth more than just clean fill

I've heard that from other places as well. Lot of people are convinced they must be selling this to someone (it's pure sand..weird), all gossip/rumour though.....

From this evening:

Is it safe to build on that sand?

I was told when Daniels HighPark was under construction—the High Park area hills are similarly all sand under the topsoil—that it's actually quite a good medium to build into. Apparently all the towers north of it in the High Park area have been standing tall in it happily for years. I suppose you don't want to find an underground river down there, but if there were one, the sand would have washed away already anyway. Without one there, apparently it's very stable.

The tower crane was going up this morning. I haven't walked over to see whether they got it completed before the gusty winds started, but around noon they had the cab up, but not the boom sections yet.

Crane appeared to be completely assembled this morning. Didn't get shots of the cab/boom, but everything looked setup to me.

Oddly enough, I think it's in my (future) bedroom.......
