You'd think that a project called 'fabrik' would play a little more with the cladding. Just a little nod to the heritage of the garment district I guess.

The awkwardly proportioned, bulky design (with what looks to be run-of-the-mill cladding) is a solid meh.

Are they (Fabrik Condos) taking over this property or is this part of another proposal.....Fabric giant King Textiles is moving to make way for a condo development

Grandmothers, design students, fashion designers, Etsy shop owners and interior decorators (to name a few) will be saddened to note that King Textiles is moving at the end of July to make way for what it describes as “yet another condo development.” Currently, the business operates in a 22,000-square-foot space at 445 Richmond Street West, but it will downsize significantly at its new location at 161 Spadina Avenue.

This development will demolish the building so it makes sense.
Two building will be demolished and the parking lot to the west will also be part of it.

So either they're starting construction or more likely they'll use the building in question as a sales center.

Think it is just the two buildings. Don't think the parking lot is part of the deal.

Pretty sure it is from the render and the description on the first phase.

Development will take over the Goodfoot/Stussy/Nomad building and the parking lot beside. The lot furthest west is not part of this project

The above quote is part of ProjectEnd's report on the community meeting. He was not entirely accurate on the parking lot.

I have seen the site plan.

Gotcha, that's unfortunate.

Is construction starting soon?

In addition to King Textiles closing later this month, Goodnight bar, located in the alley at 431 Richmond is closing after this weekend, the owner tweeting that they 'have to make room for a condo'
