I wonder if they had to lower the transformers into the site first before laying down the roof slab - can't imagine them doing that in pieces.

According to this video - yes they lowered them in before the roof was laid

Are they supposed to walk on that little wooden bridge perched on top of the rebar? Seems somewhat precarious.

Looks like one final big pour to go. Are we expecting the park to open by this Summer or will this site be a construction zone through yet another tourist season? Not to be a downer but this project is years behind schedule.

A little Copeland Transformer Station-related work to make westbound drivers on the Lake Shore crazy for the next while:

City of Toronto Media Relations has issued the following:
==========================================

News Release

April 15, 2016

Westbound Lake Shore Boulevard lane closures, York to Rees, until July 27

Lake Shore Boulevard, from York Street to Rees Street, will have reduced lanes of traffic from Monday, April 18 to Wednesday, July 27 to accommodate major work for Toronto Hydro.

The westbound Lake Shore Boulevard will be reduced to one lane with the exception of 3 to 7 p.m. (weekdays), when two lanes will be open.

Construction will take place 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week to reduce the length of time required to complete the work. The work schedule for this project has been adjusted so that all westbound lanes of traffic will re-open during key events and activities in the city including the full closure of the Gardiner Expressway (May 13 to16) and the Ride for Heart (June 5).

The City has a web-based map http://www.toronto.ca/roadrestrictions to help residents and visitors make their travel plans. Information about the City's planned capital construction work is available at http://www.toronto.ca/inview.
