Hear hear!

When I look at this park, many of my hopes and aspirations for Toronto seem realized. We're building a metropolis all Canadians can be proud of bit by bit.

I like that there are many place to sit with benches throughout. Many parts in Toronto do not have enough benches. Why is that? Anyway I like this park as well. I have yet to visit but can't wait.

I've wondered the same, most parks could really use a lot more seating.

Simple answer is $$$$ Benches cost money and PFR has had huge budget cuts so they have funds to buy very few. It is virtually impossible to get them to replace damaged benches and getting new (extra) ones only really happens when a park is rebuilt. In St Lawrence we are seeing more in Berczy now and in 2017 when St James gets a make-over it too will get more.

These benches are notable for not having the anti-homeless armrests every couple of feet to prevent sleeping on them.

Another oversight or design flaw with benches is that they didn't put anti-skateboarding bumbs every 1/2 meter or so.

There are rather small metal pieces on the benches but I wonder if they will be enough. They certainly need to put some on the two wooden platforms. Of course, they are still working so they may be coming.
