They are already starting construction on another rental tower in the entertainment district I think.. maybe it's just Demolition at this point. One on Widmer.

As far as I know, they just torn down the townhouses. They haven't broken ground yet.

Yep. This garbage: http://urbantoronto.ca/forum/thread...38m-41s-storey-living-graziani-corazza.18904/

Fortunately, they're having trouble with their permits. Unfortunately, that won't hold them up forever...

Still wonder if it is just smoke and mirrors or have they actually hooked a whale of a shark to build these rentals? I don't see how they could do it on their own. Trouble with the permits suggests incomplete permits. Perhaps the more expensive items may not have even been purchased and therefore submitted.

It's possible. There's a lot of offshore capital floating around which is making things very difficult for smaller, local bidders / builders to compete.

Update:
In 2012, developer Neilas submitted a rezoning application to the City of Toronto for a site at 263 Adelaide Street West. The site in the Entertainment District has the 5-and-a-half-storey tall Purman Building on it—a 1915-built designated heritage warehouse office building—and is on a block dense with redevelopment proposals. The developer and the City have been discussing redevelopment of the site and the block at large for the past several years, and recent documents prepared for an upcoming City Council vote recommend acceptance of the most recent plan, prepared by Quadrangle and heritage specialists ERA Architects for developer Storey Living.

That last rendering posted by biospherian doesn't look like any of the other ones - its seems to be missing those cross bracing elements. Is that the current design?

Updated database file with new rendering from the east. Kinda cool. Will Storey Living be selling this one like they did 40 Widmer to Concord? This is a design I'd like to see go ahead.
