Toronto 128 Hazelton Avenue | 37.9m | 9s | Mizrahi Developments | AUDAX

It's better than the contrived previous phases however, there is still a level of awkwardness to how the stepbacks were handled. I'm as sick of greyish window wall as everyone here so it's nice to see some heavier, contemporary facades.

I doubt they'll do this one in stone, but the ground level windows remind me very much of the new Fendi store in New York

Very stylish. I also like Mizrahi's euro condos next door. So they are faux ...so what. They will stand the test of time vs all the floor to ceiling glass boxes that dominate currently.
Agreed. I don't mind the phase 1 and 2 from Mizrahi as much as others do.

That being said, this one is so much better and will be a great addition to the city.

I'd missed the dual parking elevators before reading this one.

From the report: "A full time valet service will be present on-site to park or collect vehicles. The site has been designed to ensure all vehicles will enter and exit the elevators in a forward motion. Only right-in and right-out movements are proposed for vehicles entering and leaving the site."

It'll be interesting to see if this is problematic, given the difficulties that the development immediately east across the street has had with valet parking in a no-stopping zone (on Davenport). There are just 39 spaces here, though.

There'll be a nice widening of the sidewalk on both Davenport and Hazelton as a result of this development.

The old building looks better without a window in the arch. I always felt that window was a regrettably cheesy design feature. I'm not sad to see it go, as it was a generic PoMo building. Its replacement isn't much better in terms of architecture, but it will look more sophisticated and metropolitan in scale. It won't have any cheesy arched windows :)
