Looks like the federal government is following in the footsteps of Mike Harris during the Common Sense Revolution.

Great, can't wait for Canada as a whole to get "Mike Harissed".

The GST cut had to be the dumbest policy of all-time.

Followed only by selling government assets at fire-sale prices.

Was that taken from the editorial page? If not, then that's an interesting Star editorial masquerading as a news story.

There was no byline in the copied text, which tends to indicate it was an editorial.

Maybe he can sell somebody the Royal Canadian Mint on a 99-year lease for a few bucks... and then they can sell us loonies for $5 each!

Does anyone know what these louts do when they suspend parliament ? It appears that less and less people really care, and that scares the hell out of me.

Timing the prorogation announcement to coincide with the Team Canada roster announcement is almost cartoonishly evil.

Probably not much less than when parliament is in session.

I thought that you felt that the private sector does everything better.

I can totally see the libertarians supporting this, and it freaks me out.

    edit:

I thought santa did it differently...

Um, actually having a private bank print money is not new. Actually, if owning the bank that created coins was required, the mint would not have been able to mint for some foreign countries.
