I think they also used to have huge tanks containing I think liquid nitrogen, but I'm not sure.

That's definitely a possibility as well, I just recall that the tanks and pipes coming out of the tanks often had a lot of ice on them, which made me think of liquid nitrogen. But I cannot think of a reason for the hospital to have that much liquid nitrogen on hand. Oxygen is much more logical, but I'm not sure why it would have so much ice on them, unless the kept if very cold to increase the volume of oxygen that they could store.

Liquid O2 is a cryogen and it would have the same icing issue as liquid N2. I think it is O2 in this case since you can see a hint of a flammable sign in the pic - and N2 is non-combustible.

That makes sense, I forgot that they usually store O2 in liquid form.

The tanks are stored on Bond Street now. They also had some chillers in the lot. Maybe CFC?

I'm shocked that people don't appreciate a highly visible downtown corner lot dedicated to dumpsters, surface parking and a tank farm.

I wonder how deep it will go before vertical construction starts... Maybe 2 floors deep?
