Mmm, I respectfully disagree about the Fox and Fiddl's patio. I think it's dark, simple and handsome. It immediately caught my eye when I was down there, so much so that my partner and I debate whether to stop in for a drink.

Their abominable beer selection is what stopped that.

Fair enough. It's not so much that I dislike it in and of itself, but in combination with the rest of the building, which is also dark and sleek, it's too much of one thing.

Their abominable beer selection is what stopped that.

Oh, yeah, there's no excuse for that nonsense. Good call.

The base of this building has really suffered due to the "cheapening.". The Fox also appears to have ordered Home Depot railings and cheapened out on design.

The plaza looks like it was barely finished (where are the trees? and why does the sidewalk look to be in such terrible shape?) and I am not quite sure what the purpose of the video screen is....yet. Art? Advertising (lets pray not)? Decoration?

The John Street sidewalks are meant to be done in fell swoop next year as part of the shared-space re-do of the whole street. I think we're getting a line of trees at that time too.

The public realm is coming together bit by bit…

Surprised Fox and Fiddle didn't re-open in the old building they were in previously...

That looks fantastic. That is how you create an interesting street presence. Excellent attention to detail.

This evening, the public realm was firing on all cylinders at Pinnacle on Adelaide, with the Fox and Fiddle busy (not seen in these pics), and then the first time I've seen all of the jets on in the fountain.

On the south side of the piazza, Sweet Jesus was serving its "Pimped Out" soft serve ice cream cones for the fourth day since the La Carnita offspring opened.

To the south, this location of La Carnita itself is still preparing for its opening.

Great pics 42. I walked past last night and loved the inviting space with the fully gurgling lit fountains. Nice they finally seem to have finished it off during TIFF.
