Nuclear crisis in Toronto's eastern suburbs?

If nuclear plants can't be replaced with power sources that don't require smoke stacks then I'm not so sure there is a net benefit. I would love for people to find a way to live entirely on water, solar, and wind power but we are nowhere near that goal right now. There are stats to show people downwind from smokestacks are more sick too. The whole point of a smoke stack is to lift known pollution into the air with the hope it will mix with air and be safe by the time it hits the ground... at least nuclear plants aim to have no radioactive emissions. I would feel safer living near a properly funded nuclear plant than a smokestack to be honest.

Geothermal baby!

Get geothermal heating and cooling for your home ... a bit expensive, but well worth it.

^Very true, but it would drive developers ape sh*t. They would blither on about price increases, lack of affordability, costs of installation, suburban cruelty, black pits of darkness and general end of the world doom.

Otherwise, a very under-utilzed form of heating and cooling.
