...as well as the relocation of some of their favourite stores, such as Popeye's, which moved from between Oakwood and Glenholme to the southwest corner of Eglinton and Dynevor, one block west of Dufferin. In other news, Eglintonians revolt as ECLRT forces closure of favourite stores.
We have pictures now? What a time to be alive.
Umm I like the sound of this (From SmartTrack report to city council):
"LRT Options for the Eglinton Corridor Metrolinx has recently undertaken preliminary work to develop options for an enhanced Eglinton LRT between Mt. Dennis and the MACC and Pearson Airport. Options to improve travel speed along the corridor have been developed by Metrolinx, including optimizing the number of stations and enhancing the degree of grade separation. Further detail on these options including ridership, travel time impacts, transit accessibility, feasibility, and cost will need to be developed over the next several months with collaboration and input of City and TTC staff."

Additional Feedback Invited on Eglinton Crosstown Station Names - Part 2
Many thanks to all who participated in our recent Eglinton Crosstown station name engagement. Your feedback was very helpful and has in fact resulted in proposed changes to some station names. For instance, Silverthorne is now named Keelesdale, and Oriole Park is now named Avenue.
To avoid confusion and to shorten names at surface stops, we have decided to eliminate reference to Eglinton as the cross-street (e.g. Wynford & Eglinton will instead simply be Wynford). This decision affects three stops whose major intersecting streets are already used as TTC station/stop names elsewhere on the network. We’d like your reaction to the newly proposed names of these three surface stops:
- Leslie & Eglinton will become Sunnybrook Park
- Victoria Park & Eglinton will become Wexford
- Warden & Eglinton will become Golden Mile
The Sunnybrook renaming of Leslie station is good.
But the others are insanity. If someone is looking to go to Victoria Park and Eglinton, they won't know where to go. Same with Warden.
Is there some way or some thing we can do to convince Metrolinx to smarten up with their naming scheme? Because if they get it wrong, we are stuck with it forever.
