I'm looking for a Sofabed/Daybed that's suitable for a small space. We've searched the outer burbs to no avail, just wondering if anyone knows of any decent downtown furniture stores that would sell such a creature as this:

You could try taking an afternoon to check out the King St East strip, going west to east starting from Yonge. There's a new "Small Spaces" furniture store just east of the King Eddie Hotel. A bit further east take a small southerly detour on Jarvis down to Front and visit Neoset.

Then go back up and continue east along King all the way past Sherbourne to around Berkeley: this strip is lined on both sides with furniture stores of various types and prices. At Sherbourne, check out the EQ3 and take another little detour north up Sherbourne, as there are a few more furniture stores on that block.

Finally, if you have any energy left, you could continue all the way along King to Parliament and go south to the Distillery District and visit Fluid Living.

Wow, some of the things Roomy has is the exact stuff we're looking for. A bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. Most of their things seem to be made in Canada as well.

If anyone else has suggestions, post them here.

Thanks!

Uh, just a quick note; friends of mine had a bad experience with Roomy. It had to do with damage on delivery, high installation costs and poor customer service. That's not to say you will experience the same thing, but their experience was just bad enough from start to finish that I'd thought I'd mention it.

I bought my bed at Casa Life in Liberty Village. They have all kinds of furniture, clearly geared toward condo living - some great space innovations. They have opened a second space two doors over. Not cheap, but I will be going back when I can afford more. I have my eye on a number of items.

Only drawback: you have to go there and see the selection. The website is lousy - missing some of their best items.

Casalife

I bought mine exactly like the one in your photo at Casalife. You can choose different grades of fabrics and your final price will range from $1600-$2500. I am also surprised how comfortable the bed is, given its thin matress.
