Liverpool FC - New stadium design

Looks good. It's nice to see new stadiums going up around the world pushing the boundaries and not building some boring steel bleachers...

That's terrific...wish they'd put that much thought into stadium design here.

^ The formula here in North America is still to go "retro", whether it's baseball or MLS. Stadiums here in North America are built using pretty much the same technique as big-box stores - simple steel structure, clad in faux historic facades, and then the design is presented to the fan base as a building that will bring some history and traditions to the team. It may be a good thing for the team and the fans, but the quality of construction of "retro" stadiums seems to go down every year.

The only league in North America that seems to buck this trend is the NFL.

Wow! An urban NFL stadium for Minneapolis with an LRT station. That's bucking the typical NFL stadium trend, though Detroit's Ford Field is also downtown - usually NFL stadiums are surrounded by parking in the outer burbs, in the same vein as Kanata's Pallidium or a typical GO station.

Its great that stadiums in Europe are the architectural highlights...thats the way it should be...the whole city can take pride in them
