Interesting about the bus route proposal. It does make a good deal of sense, especially as that part of Wellington doesn't tend to be too congested.

They're still working on it.

Also, new streetcars are being rolled out which have double the capacity of the existing ones so we'll see how that goes. There is also early talks going on with TTC and the city to start a bus route that goes east OUT of Liberty Village, along Wellington to Bathurst, Bathurst to front and then end at union station.

If they do that, they should just continue it on Front all the way to Bayview.

Strachan overpass finally completed!

Traffic not bad at all for the most part during rush hour since new lanes have been opened.

I visited the Children's Discovery Centre this weekend, which is temporarily occupying the future Garrison Point site. It was brilliant. I strongly recommend it to anyone with kids 6 and under. Can't wait to see more of these popups downtown.

LVBIA commissioned a masterplan for the area back in 2012. In May, they did an update.

It's not an official City document, but it's a good tool to see the possibilities that can transform Liberty Village.

The 3 Brewers is now open in LV. Big Rock brewery also on the way. According to a friend who lives in the area , they had a soft opening back in November.

How much life do you reckon the Liberty Village Metro has? Are there any plans to have the site developed?

I wish they'd make it bigger or had introduced more retail space for a competitor (e.g., No Frills) to move in elsewhere within the village. Metro just went through some renos so I doubt they'll do more development.

There is a new grocer coming on Strachan in a few years once that development is built.
