Kensington Market

That is indeed a very unfortunate corner with the hideous suburban style plaza. Destroy it!

Greatly appreciated!!!

I'm selling my beloved 'Kensington Tower', an architectural gem in Kensington Market, zoned Commercial/Residential, one of the most unique properties in Canada. European style multi-level spaces with unparalleled panoramic views of the city skyline from several levels plus a breathtaking rooftop terrace. Truly one-of-a-kind.

Adam Vaughan wants the city to restrict restaurants and bars in K-Market

Aren't restaurant's and bars the most vibrant part of the area?

At a quick glance things like this seem really silly ... but you need to dig in more, there is some rationale here, reading the letter. You are correct, restaurants are doing really well, but that's the problem !

This is inevitable though ... Kensington is no longer the local market it was a decade ago, rather its a area visited by many throughout the city, so of course this will drive up rents, and more restaurants / bars that can afford the higher rents will come in, while existing retailers (e.g. food / clothing) will struggle.

But this isn't a Toronto thing ... its simply market driven ...

You can fight the Walmart, but it's a wasted effort if the existing retailers disappear in a wave of bars and restaurants. The proposed Walmart will have no effect on bars and restaurants.

i love kensington market! my wife and i visit every week. We go to Buddha's restaurant for dinner, then walk over and do some shopping at Essence of Life Health Food Store and the fruit stores on Spadina.

Hey there!

We thought it would be interesting to showcase our recent project rebranding the original St. Andrew Poultry in Kensington Market.

It is interesting to see the evolution of the neighbourhood throughout the years. Fortunately, some residents and business owners are not only aware of the uniqueness of the neighbourhood, but are also concerned with keeping that vibe alive while still continuing to evolve.

Kensington Market is a great place with lots of potential due to it's incredible urban scene (not only retail but housing, art, culture, landscape...an urban planner's dream!)

Here is a quick teaser of our project...enjoy!
