Toronto Casey House | ?m | 4s | Hariri Pontarini

Very well done. Echoing what has already been mentioned, the restoration is excellent and the addition is respectful and of high quality.

Just over two weeks ago, I popped into Pontarini Architects and got an overview of Casey House (among other projects).

Today, while snapping some updated pics, I was invited in for a tour by a keen admin worker named Tracy. There seemed to be several smallish tours ongoing, and public ones begin tomorrow. There is an excitement among staff with day treatments to begin within the coming days, and expanding to pretty much a fully realized facility in August. First 3 pics are from Doors Open including the beautiful models. It is a stunningly gorgeous place, decidedly un-hospital-like. (They were all ok with posting photos here).

Part Two:

Second floor in the heritage portion.

Casey-11.jpg

Sitting room in the heritage portion. To be used for many purposes such as a living room space, or a meeting room with visitors, etc.

Here's a close-up of that fireplace in the meeting room.

An art room! That's a kiln in the left corner!

Casey-14.jpg

Casey-16.jpg

A computer area to use/teach/train usage, etc.

Casey-17.jpg

The main eating area that can hold almost 200 people.

Casey-18.jpg

This area on the roof will become a green roof, with diaphanous privacy screens to be installed.

The private rooms are spacious, with wood and warm tones, and individual paint colours chosen by those who will move in. Many 'clients' had a tour yesterday apparently - they were gobsmacked at the quality and the space!
