Am I the only one not seeing a link to to the database for this project at the top of the page?

Item coming to TEYCC on September 8:
City Council must consider whether to authorize City officials to sign the Section 45(9) Agreement and exercise the “Structure Option” as noted in paragraph 8 of Appendix 1 of the January 28, 2015 decision of the Committee of Adjustment, which granted minor variances to permit the construction of a 48 storey building with bus terminal at 45 Bay Street. The owner (Ivanhoe Cambridge) will then construct a three-dimensional structure within its below grade parking area for the potential future use as an LRT platform for the East Bayfront LRT station. The consideration of this matter is time sensitive as the City is required to exercise this Structure Option within 2 days of the September City Council meeting.

Does this mean that construction is imminent?
 
We've been led to believe that construction is imminent ever since the Spring when the building received zoning approval.

Toronto council set to approve downtown East Bayfront LRT stop
Politicians are ready to spend up to $2 million on platform for anticipated transit line.

City council has yet to find money for the East Bayfront LRT line, but councillors are ready to reserve space that could become a platform for one of its stations.

The GO bus station at 45 Bay St. is being redeveloped with a 48-storey tower, and the developer has agreed to include a structure within the underground parking area that’s expected to someday serve as an LRT platform, Coun. Pam McConnell said.

With the development expected to happen soon, councillors are facing a time crunch to get the deal in place.

Council secured $2 million to make it happen, though the project is expected to cost less than that, McConnell said. A full report is expected at the Toronto East York Community Council meeting on Sept. 8.

“This is very important for us, and it’s been a good year in the making,” McConnell said.

“As far as I know, there are no barriers” to approval, she added.

The East Bayfront LRT has been among council’s transit priorities for years. Earlier this year, politicians approved a motion to expedite it, but the money still hasn’t been secured.


As the waterfront east of downtown is being developed, there’s more urgency for the line to be built, McConnell said.

“We are actively pursuing funding for the East Bayfront LRT as we speak. When that occurs is anybody’s guess, but sometimes it happens faster than you think,” she said. “And sometimes slower.”

She considers reserving space for the LRT platform downtown is a step in the right direction.

Sorta off topic, is the East Bayfront LRT going to be an actual LRT or just an underground line using street cars? Or will it just a separated street car line like the Spadina street car?

It will be a 'mirror version" of the Queens Quay West lines(s) and use the same tunnel etc between Union and Queen's Quay. One day (they say) it will go into the Port lands and link up with the Cherry Street line but initially it will end at Parliament. I've been hoping we'd see the second tower come in taller as 1) with the stepped heights of each of the towers, the stepping should just plain continue upwards, 2) the second tower is closer to King and Bay, so it should step up towards the height peak, and 3) what the heck am I doing explaining being happy about a taller tower to this crowd?!

Yes, they were there last year and I posted those pictures. This picture is from today and they are drilling today
