Bay Adelaide Centre West Tower (Brookfield, 50s, WZMH)

Taken today. Something was being hoisted up to the rooftop. Any guesses...

When you scroll down on that image^^^^ and are not able to see the KMPG logo, it looks like a shot from downtown L.A. with palm trees in the foreground.

I don't understand this article in the Toronto Star: http://www.moneyville.ca/article/1062109--condo-boom-eating-up-office-space

I think there is sill plenty of space in Toronto's core for office towers. Doesn't the Bay-Adelaide Center still have space for another tower? And what about directly north of the Bay-Adelaide? There seems to be space there for another tower.

And isn't a large office tower proposed on Bay street just south of the tracks, on the east side?

There is still plenty of space for office towers in Toronto's core. What nonsense!

Toronto Office Market is Booming!

Hi I found this article with the latest facts and figures of Toronto's office market from Cushman and Wakefield.

http://www.jacquespilondesign.com/Streetsmarts/links/C&W%20Special%20Research%20Report%20Toronto's%20Downtown%20Q2%202011.pdf

It goes over the reasons why the market is booming and compares it with other cities in Canada and the US on page 3. It shows how the gap is closing with Chicago but still has a long way to go to catch up with New York.

If you want make this into its own thread. (I dont have enough posts to do so) Thanks.

Grump,

That's what I was searching for, a chart that compared the office inventory in major North American cities.

Thanks

That seems pretty vague. They don't need permits to do basic maintenance like window changeouts, so that must be something substantial. 17m2? Maybe they're doing something with the spandrel on the mezzanine level? Or something on the ground floor?

I think this is because they are removing the KMPG sign from the east side of this building as part of a deal where E&Y agreed to not have a sign on the west side of BE East.
