The balconies of One Bloor East are partly what make this building look as good as it will.

That being said, I love the concept of what the balconies will be like in One Bloor West with their opening closing glass to enclose to open the balcony to the outside. This way, it can be used as a three season room.

Balconies on tall buildings can be done well and add to the design. Unfortunately architects designing these buildings in TO clearly lack some experience and thus the buildings look terrible. Every tall building in Dubai for instance must look different and add to the skyline, also they have some of the best modern building architecture with balconies.

Dubai is the last place we should be emulating. They have some great towers but, most are just vain attempts at "adding" to the skyline. I prefer our inspired mid century modernism over some Middle Eastern inspired PoMo.
