Notice that the top of the TD Canada Trust Tower is now lit up (below the spire). I've always felt that its tapered sections should be illuminated at night. Hopefully more will be lit and not just the upper section of the crown.

That would be awesome. The spire was inspired by Art Deco towers, which are always lit up at night in American cities.

Does anyone know what's going on with parts of the lower floors on the N and S sides? I happened to walk by the S side, nearly directly across from the Delta Chelsea's entrance, and noticed many external "tile" pieces were literally missing. Also the underside of some of the balconies are glaringly partially painted (are they not going to complete the paint jobs?). And while looking out one of the windows on the Marshall floor on the N side, I saw that an entire exterior wall was missing a "tile".

Don't inspectors in Toronto require that a building's shell be completed before allowing them to pass? Or is this structure still under "construction"? I was really surprised by the obvious incomplete parts. It reflects poorly on the building, and makes one wonder the degree of seriousness and completeness with which Toronto's buidling inspectors do their jobs.

i can't answer regarding the paint job and tiles but i do know HVAC work is still continuing, the majority is completed but minor work is still going on like grilles in unfinished rooms

Now that I've seen the light feature at a variety of times, my verdict it that it's too bright at night.

It looks really good in the evening as it accents the roofline, but as the light levels drop it becomes a bit overpowering. Ideally the lights would dim as the surroundings get darker, similarly to my computer screen.

Agreed. If the lights were a quarter less bright, we'd all have a better chance of shooting them without them blurring so much (although a couple of our best photographers have got the nighttime exposure thing figured out, I'm thinking about you @kotsy).

Definitely too bright, as I also noted pages back. I walk onto my balcony and they actually cause a mild, brief amount of strain on the eyes for a minute or so. The lights are also being turned off at 10:30pm because it's bird migratory season, from mid August until the end of October. We'll see if they keep them on a little later come November. I have a feeling they won't.

There was some work being done on the corner sign this morning, but I couldn't tell what.

The fencing from the northwest corner has finally been taken down. It's finally clearing up.
